When Jordi Cuenca and Kim Castells from the Triade team of Barcelona, took on this project their focus was to create a legacy of elegance, architecture, and sophisticated ambience whilst remaining an intimate and cozy gateway for couples, families and business minded people.
While planning my business trip to Ibiza, I wanted to explore a completely different side to the white isles. I wanted adventure, freedom, relaxation, nature and well being. Luckily there are only two such places on the island and I had the pleasure to explore both. After landing in Ibiza and spending two hours with the partygoers on the plane, I couldn’t wait to escape to a remote place and find the luxury lifestyle, I crave so much!
Fortunately for me, I was only 20 minutes away from discovering Ibiza’s best-kept secret. As my driver drove through the small narrow roads of the countryside, horses just looking into the distance and children happily playing on the land, it wasn’t long until we reached one of the most incredibly spectacular hotels in Ibiza, the five star and numerous award winning hotel – Aguas de Ibiza. Welcomed by a perfectly chilled glass of Champagne, I was immediately assisted by the helpful reception staff, checked in and here we go…my holiday has officially started in true style!
To kick start my day in Ibiza, I needed a good grounded coffee and breakfast and to my surprise Öligo Mediterranean restaurant exceeded my expectations in the only way they can. The buffet breakfast had pretty much every cheese there is and if you are crazy about cheese like I am, this would be your ideal heaven! If the buffet is missing your favourite morning crepes, no need to panic, the chefs are on hand to make up anything you like. The Mediterranean feel and deco ambience entices you to relax, wake up and begin your day in a very calm and productive way. During the day you can also relish two more restaurants La Sal Restaurant and Alabastro Lounge. If you are a wine lover, visiting the La Sal is a must with their extensive wine list of 350 carefully selected wines from Ibiza, the Balearic Islands and Spain as well as the rest of the world. Whereas the Alabastro Lounge offers luxury tapas, brochettes, sandwiches and casual food available and exotic cocktails – I would recommend sampling the strawberry Mojito.
As the day begins, you can either relax by one of the two pools in the main garden area of the hotel, pick a treatment from the Revival spa, work on those abs at the gym, go by the beach or even take a private> car and visit Ibiza’s newest luxury beach bar – Nikki Beach, situated only 10 minutes from the hotel. Speak to the reception staff and they will organise everything for you- from the pick up, to complimentary Champagne on arrival, booking sun beds and collecting you when you have had a little much.
If you aim to relax, rejuvenate and revive, then take full advantage of Ibiza’s largest spa on the island – Revival. Spoil yourself with Revival water treatments, from counter-current jet pool, waterbeds, Feng-Shui pool, Roman bath, finnish Sauna, hammam, cold pool, ice fountain, different rain showers and Scottish shower. Doesn’t this sound so unique?
If you are planning to check in after a week of partying on the island then perhaps the Slimming & Detox programs could work for you. A friend of mine recently completed the three-day Detox package, which involved a juice program that is designed to balance Ph levels and detox the entire body.
I am more of layback and relaxed type of girl and I absolutely felt in love with the Clarins one-hour full body massage. After a day of attempting to scuba dive and almost drowning twice, I needed a treatment that will decrease my tense muscles and bring me back to life! It did more!!! After an hour I felt totally relaxed and brand spanking new! After the treatment, I was given a hot towel with lavender and warm herbal tea to relax even more as if the treatment wasn’t enough.
At night, we couldn’t resist to visit The Air Ibiza Sky Bar & Restaurant. The view is simply mouth dropping, the marina boats out-stage the scenery and the romantic candle light sets a perfect tone for a indulgent dinner or delicious cocktail. The serenity and outlook from the Sky Bar are almost too perfect to capture and this is certainly a view worth seeing.
As I try to summarize the last three days at the Aguas de Ibiza, it is quite hard to put it into words just how exquisite this hotel really is! Located away from the hustle and bustle, the traditionally modern and environmentally sustainable hotel offers a unique experience of luxury, extravagant well being choices, naturally sourced produce and unlimited options to really experience only the best of what Ibiza has to offer. I am excited to add Aguas de Ibiza to my top three hotels in Ibiza and I am excited to return in 2014 and many more years to follow.
